Yelp and filtered reviews for Genesis Chiropractic of Bentonville
Client testimony quotes (real patient reviews) posted on Yelp, and quickly filtered off Yelp:
“Very good treatment plan and follow up. Getting great results…I was quite amazed at what he can do. Check it out!!…Dr. Blackketter cares for his clients and takes a lot of time with them… Upper cervical care works and in a way that is so different from anything you have experienced before. DON’T try anything else, TRY CHIROPRACTIC FIRST and call Dr. Blackketter for a life and health changing experience…If you live anywhere nearby, there’s no question, you should visit his office and begin your journey to better health!…Gone are the days of intense neck pain and tension.”
In case you are new to Yelp.com please go check it out. It is a very cool social media site that is all about customer reviews of local businesses. You can give ratings of 1 to 5 stars and write comments about your experience with doctors, restaurants, churches, services, etc.
Unfortunately, Yelp filtered out(removed) five separate 5 star user reviews we had been given for Genesis Chiropractic of Bentonville.
I’m not complaining.
Well, I guess it is a mild complaint…
I know they have a system that is designed to “protect the consumer” and also to insure that the public has real patient reviews of doctors and authentic opinions from actual reviewers, called Yelpers by some. Yes, we need for all client reviews by Yelpers or Googlers or Facebookers to be held up to the highest level of accountability. Each reviewer must be a reliable source of information for their comments to be helpful for others. I get it, no scams and no spam!
Believe me, I want all the information out there about me and my business to be as accurate as possible.
BUT, the frustration for me is I know all these people. They are honest. They are (or were) my clients!
They are “Real People. Real Reviews.”® just like Yelp wants!!
Why does sharing from the heart with the best intentions — so other people can also benefit from Upper Cervical Specific care — get filtered?!? Hmmmm?
I don’t know. Maybe, I wouldn’t be writing this blog if they hadn’t all been 5 stars!!
For whatever reason their remarks were filtered out, so I retrieved them from the “filtered reviews” section to share their stories with you.

Angela H. of Rogers, AR who also follows us on Facebook, wrote this review on 5/7/2012:
“Dr. Blackketter is very kind, and has really helped me. I would recommend him to anyone!! He’s the first cervical chiropractor I have ever been to, and I was quite amazed at what he can do. Check it out!!”
Then she followed that up with another testimonial on Facebook: “…I truly believe without you I would still be on LOA [Leave of Absence from work]!!”

We wish your kind words for me would have been made public so others can find out about this business and how we can help them live better, stronger, healthier lives.
We have not seen one single comment survive Yelp’s review filter screening process…for more than a couple days. You can read them if you scroll down to the bottom and click read filtered reviews, but this is getting ridiculous.
To be fair, Yelp did send me a response to a comment I made (yes, I reviewed Yelp on Yelp). They basically said my reviews were made by new Yelpers and they aren’t considered as trustworthy or valuable as an established member with many reviews. They also reiterated their policy about the filtering processas a protection for my business from fake reviews, malicious comments from competitors, or remarks by disgruntled employees.
