What is Specific Upper Cervical Spinal Care?

It is a strict discipline within chiropractic which focuses specifically on restoring proper head & neck alignment. Injury to the delicate joints in the upper neck where the skull connects to the top of the spine has serious consequences to our overall health. All the vital nerves in the Brain Stem and upper regions of the Spinal Cord are impacted by this head / neck relationship. Stress, tension, or trauma will distort these nerves, altering the flow of messages between brain and body, ultimately disrupting normal function throughout all major systems in the body.

Our goal is restore a healthy normal nerve communication by correcting the alignment and function of the Atlas and Axis bones (1st and 2nd cervical vertebrae, aka C-1 & C-2). This junction in upper neck is the most complex region of the entire neuro-musculo-skeletal system, and also the most difficult to correct.
